Once again, Townandplace.AI are pleased to have been chosen to support economic recovery for 3 major Gloucestershire districts.
The three rural Gloucestershire districts Council Forest of Dean, Cotswold Council and Stroud Council created a joint footfall data contract. They identified a need for accurate footfall data to understand how their 12 market towns are being used by local people and visitors during COVID restrictions and to support plans for future economic recovery. The data will also help inform each towns work and economic regeneration ambitions for the future.
The town centre locations within each District are:
Cotswold District Council – Cirencester, Tetbury and Stow-on-the-Wold
Forest of Dean District Council – Cinderford, Coleford, Lydney and Newent
Stroud District Council – Dursley, Nailsworth, Stonehouse, Stroud and Wotton-under-Edge
Previously all three districts data collection largely relied on manual counts with patchy town centre and high street coverage. The data gathered was not collected consistently or using identical methods. This created an inadequate picture of the districts and made it difficult to compare the 12 towns.
At TownandPlace.AI we knew we could provide the council with their desired single system that will provide all Town, District & County Councils with the most appropriate, accurate, and high-quality footfall and behaviour data, together with our user-friendly reporting tools that they required to reach their goals.
